Because of these possible changes to the succession laws, will there be Roman Catholic British Monarch one day?
As of now,the monarch must be Church of England, because the monarch serves as titular head of the Anglican church. There must be a change, where the monarch's role is Defender of Faiths and not "Defender of the Faith," and is no longer head of the Church of England,in order for the Anglican requirement to be dropped. Some people mentioned years ago that Charles might be interested in doing this. But, it is a constitutional requirement that the monarch be Church of England,so conversion to Catholicism is not possible.
