The demise of mankind?

When you look at most cultures, it becomes obvious that the longer people live together in one place, the more corrupt, and devious the culture. This seems especially true of asian and european cultures, i.e. Greece, Italy, Turkey. Do you think that it is inevitable that our culture will continue to fold in on itself until the fabric of society comes apart?
