My dvd burner on my computer always freezes when I try and burn a dvd with Roxio software,why is this?

trying to burn a dvd always freezes right before it tries and close the session out. i can never get the dvd burner to close the loop of the data, so a player can access it. when i burn mp3/wav files to cd-r, i have no trouble with the Roxio software. Please help!
