My first car........?

It's a great choice. Just have a mechanic look it over to see if there are any issues and what will need to be fixed. Manuals are also great; it's sad they're so hard to find now. Anyway, I can tell you I have a 2000 LX Coupe with over 150K miles. I need to do proper maintenance, of course, and parts do wear out like on every car--such as brakes, tires, muffler, suspension parts--but it's outstandingly reliable and fun to drive. It's also very safe and provides excellent driver feedback and handling, especially for a mid-size everyman car. Insurance should be reasonable, but that also depends on where you live, your record, etc.
