Who's with me on this one...outdoor cats?

So I have a beautiful 5 year old tabby cat who is outdoors virtually the entire summer (she refuses to come in when the weather is nice) and during the day during the year, if it isn't snowy, rainy, or just plain cold. She comes in and sleeps with me in my bedroom at night. Anyway, with so many indoor cats, I've started thinking that it would be awful if my kitty would be inside the house all day and she'd hate it! It's true that we live in a fairly rural area...we have lots of land and few cars drive by in our neighborhood, but I think that even people who live in a similar environment as my family keep their cats inside. Who's with me...if you have a safe environment for your cat, it's almost cruel to keep them inside?
